BLOO. DY. HELL.

This is basically what I like to reflect the year of 2012 as—the time of Brigadoonian gloriousness!

I mean, for a series that is a little bit over the status of DEAD, let us recap the events that has happened within this year alone in chronological order:

• A screening panel at the SUNRISE festival (Creators as well as the manga artist got re-involved and got a taste of the enormous passion and overall number of fans this series actually has despite 12 long years.)

• A free re-broadcast of the series on the BANDAI Channel. (Gained much more viewers, fans, and overall acknowledgement.)

• A chance to convert the series into Blu-Ray format through an online contest. (Great opportunity to get more people into it, especially since all merchandise stateside and in Japan has been long out of print!)

• And winning it.. (Despite being radically outnumbered and originally starting in 4th place.)


And now…I present to you:

• The mention of a possible sequel

HOLY!

Many people from the fan base debate and speculate whether or not this series had a planned sequel, but I was not a in this party. To me, the ending felt fairly ambiguous, especially since many today still get a tad irked by the fact that a 100+ year-old alien being gains a relationship with a 13-year-old young girl, so I suppose the only way to prevent further squikiness the series ended on a deliberately open-ended note. (And yes while it still annoyed me at least is didn’t treat me like the way the open ending of The Giver or Crispin was.)

IN SHORT I DIDN’T THINK THAT THIS MERE POSSIBILITY ACTUALLY EXISTED. AND THE FACT THAT THE DIRECTOR IS CONTEMPLATING SUCH THINGS JUST.


Guys I seriously don’t know what to feel right now.

But I suppose if we were actually given with new material, I’d certainly like to see an artbook with interviews or an OVA. (While a drama CD and novel would be nice, I…am not Japanese-literate in the slightest so the experience would just kill it for me, and I’m sure many others that are part of the Western fan base too!)

THAT aside, this picture took so much longer than I originally thought it would. The colors looks so much better than expected, but as much as I would love to fix the line art a bit more I can’t really bother to care at this point…

And I swear I can draw Pyon in a pose that is not a side angle it’s just that the other characters took the other varied poses I wanted to do!! ;-; Seriously I don’t know who’s more difficult to draw—Pyon or Kuston, it’s one of the two!!!
